Botany :

Description : Terrestrial, annual erect herb, not rooting at nodes. Taproot white or brown. Stems rounded, solid, hairy. Stipules absent. Leaves alternate spiral, elliptic, more than 2 cm long/wide, margin coarsely dentate, apex acute, base acute, pinnately-veined. Leaf sheath absent. Flowers bisexual, grouped together in a terminal head, with tubular flowers only, sessile, white or purple. Fruit an achene, pappus present.

Biology :

Reproduction by seeds.

Phenology :

Flowering and fruiting throughout the year.

Ecology :

Roadsides, open waste places, dry grassy sites and in plantations of perennial crops.
